Job Description:
Provides system administration and information security support for mission critical workstations and servers at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center, primarily in support of the Dryden Aeronautical Test Range (DATR) direct staff and flight project teams.
Responsibilities:
Provides direction to a team of technical staff for completing IT Security and production system related objectives. General System Administration duties, including provisioning user accounts and providing customer support where needed. Responds to IT related requests from DATR system end-users and IT Security staff. Maintain Windows workstation and server systems, providing support for hardware (both vendor platforms and custom computer builds), operating systems, applications, and storage. Ensures systems are updated/patched, vulnerabilities are assessed/mitigated, and software is configured in accordance with US Government Configuration Baseline standards. Keeps DATR systems/configurations/connections up to date and organized; Excesses end-of-life equipment and procures new hardware/software as necessary. Ensures proper System Security Plan documentation and implements these plans in a production environment. Maintains software and hardware inventory for DATR systems and regularly reviews these records. Performs system performance and integration testing to ensure system configurations meet our customers' requirements. Develops and maintains IT related documentation as required. Researches and provides input into new systems and technologies that can improve our environment or help better meet our objectives. Gathers quotes and makes purchases for any materials necessary to complete our IT related objectives. Briefs management and customer on status and implementation plans. Requirements:
Associates degree in technology related field with a minimum of 3 years of related work experience; 5 years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. (Level increment is based on experience) Experience performing systems administration tasks using Windows 10 LTS and Windows Server 2016 operating systems. Experience with security control policies, system monitoring, auditing procedures and assessing vulnerability risks. Strong troubleshooting skills in computer hardware and software related issues. Strong organizational skills and ability to track multiple technical projects to completion. Demonstrated ability to give reasonable schedule estimates of work to be accomplished. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance. Desired Skills:
Experience with NASA agency security plan creation, implementation, and maintenance procedures. Experience with bringing systems into compliance in a NASA agency and Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Experience with using system imaging tools including Microsoft Windows Deployment Server, Symantec Ghost, and Macrium Reflect. Experience with security tools including Symantec Virus Scanner, BigFix, and Nessus Security Center. Experience configuring and managing CISCO network equipment for small-medium scale networks. Experience configuring and maintaining KVMs for a medium-scale group of systems within a production environment. Experience with setting up and using system management software for patching and software management purposes (i.e. SCCM). Experience with Active Directory accounts and object management tasks. Experience managing virtualized machines running on VMware Workstation, and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization platforms. Experience managing Linux based systems in a secure environment and working with shell scripts. Perks:

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
