Summary:
EMCOR Government Services & Helix Enterprises, under the joint-venture Helix Management Services, has an exciting opportunity at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) for a Quality Control Inspector.
The Quality Cotnrol Inspector will be located on Edwards AFB - the 2nd largest base in the Air Force at NASA's premier site for aeronautical research in Edwards, CA.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Reporting to the Safety/QC Manager
Qualifications:
High school diplomaExperience with quality control techniques such as Six SigmaExperience with hand tools and measuring devices such as meters, gauges, computers, calipers, and other measuring instrumentsOne to two years' quality inspector experienceWritten and verbal communication skillsBasic math skillsBasic computer skillsAttention to detailAnalytic skillsDocumentation skillsHand/eye coordinationReporting skillsBlueprint readingWe offer our employees a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package and are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
