Safety Coordinator

Position : Safety Coordinator
Location : Edwards AFB, CA
ASRC Federal is currently seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our team at the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, CA.
This role is located at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center on Edwards Air Force Base, near Palmdale/Lancaster, CA. As a part of this team, you will be required to work a 9/80 schedule with typical hours of 7:00am-4:30pm.
+ Develops new written safety programs and updates current programs for the Safety & Health Plan.
+ Performs Work Place, Job Hazard and Safety Risk Analyses and conducts workplace inspections and safety investigations.
+ Recognize safety hazards or unsafe work practices and develop Corrective Action Plans
+ Maintains current Material Safety Data Sheets and the Hazardous Materials Inventory List
+ Conducts annual review of JHAs and ensures JHAs are briefed to employees annually.
+ Prepares and monitors safety plans for contract construction/maintenance projects, reviews vendor safety plans and certifications for construction/maintenance projects and submits the plans for review to the NASA Safety Office and to the NASA Facilities Office.
+ Coordinates issues and tracks Hazardous Operations Permits (HOPs).
+ Assesses the need for personal protective equipment; procures necessary equipment; and trains on equipment.
+ Administers Safety and Health Programs required by the NASA Safety Office, Federal and California OSHA.
+ Oversees the workers' compensation reporting/management function for the RF&ESS contract.
+ Schedules and coordinates the delivery of recurring safety and health related training programs. Ensures that all employees receive all required Safety and Health training.
+ Assists with visitor requests; requests identities for new employees and works with departing employees to ensure all off-boarding tasks are complete.
+ Attend various meetings:
+ Conducts quarterly All Hands Safety Meetings.
+ Participates in Armstrong Safety Office facility safety inspections and tracks action items to completion.
+ Submits projects to the Facilities CCB and attends meetings.
+ Produces and maintains various reports:
+ Produces the Monthly Safety Technical Progress Report.
+ Produces the annual Comprehensive Accident/Injury Summary Report.
+ Maintains and posts the OSHA 300 Report.
+ Produces and distributes the Monthly Contractor Accident Report.
+ Conducts periodic audits of the Lockout/Tagout Program and Memo for Record.
+ Performs regular audits on MSDS in work areas.
+ Produces summaries and maintains Experience Modification Rate (EMR).
+ Bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma required
+ 1-2 years of directly related work experience
+ Must possess extensive knowledge of federal and state laws regarding safety regulations and OSHA, as well as applicable reporting requirements
+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret NASA and Corporate Safety Procedures, professional journals and technical manuals
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+ Effective verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences and make presentations to large groups
+ Ability to interact with all levels of professionals from multiple organizations
Must be a US Citizen to be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
