The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) mission is leading in the discovery, development, and integration of affordable warfighting technologies for our Air and Space Forces.
Within AFRL, the Aerospace Systems Directorate's (RQ) mission is to pioneer transformative aerospace technologies for our warfighter's advantage.
The RQ directorate is split among Wright-Paterson AFB, Edwards AFB, and Arnold AFB.
The Site Support Division (RQI) provides plans, investment, and programs to enable all elements of RQ in the accomplishment of the directorate mission as RQI manages, coordinates, integrates, and directs a wide range of enabling functions.
The RQ group located at Edwards AFB is referred to as the AFRL Rocket Lab.
The Information Technology Branch (RQIC) mission includes implementing and maintaining a reliable and technologically up-to-date information processing infrastructure for the AFRL Rocket Lab.
RQIC is responsible for the design, engineering, installation, maintenance and operation of personal computing systems, servers, networks, data acquisition and control systems.
RQIC also has the responsibility to provide mission support while achieving compliance with policy, regulation, and the law.
The AFRL/RQIC Branch is divided into four groups:
Network Operations Center (NOC), Portfolio Management (PfM), Operations (Ops), and Cybersecurity (Cyb).
Qualifications:
The Field Service Lead is hired for oversight and management of activities within Field Service Support.
The minimum qualifications for this position are maintains a Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification; a minimum of five (5) years combined experience in telecommunications infrastructure and facility design, installation, as well as information technology hardware repair.
Secret Clearance at minimum.
Bachelor's degree a plus in Engineering or IT.
