Overview Provide facility project management advisory and assistance services to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Rocket Lab as a liaison between the Edwards Air Force Base Civil Engineering (CE) organization and the Rocket Lab for all research, testing, and laboratory related facility repair and construction. This includes, but is not limited to; attending facility related meetings with CE and other base and commercial agencies to represent AFRL facilities requirements, initiating and developing projects and statements of work (SOW) for repair and construction of AFRL occupied facilities, verifying funding availability for all facilities actions through coordination with project managers/branch chiefs and the AFRL finance office, and tracking and providing financial and construction progress data to the finance office and leadership for all in-progress and completed facilities work. The Facility Projects Manager will develop long-range comprehensive plans for facility and infrastructure modernization and capability improvement projects to include site walks, preconstruction meetings and final inspections with CE SABER contractor and Army Corps of Engineers personnel. Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This position is located on the RTES contract at Edwards Air Force Base. EOE/Minority/Female/Disabled/Veteran Responsibilities Requisite Skills:
Experience with government facilities programs / contracting tremendously valuable. Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills. Familiarity with rocket propulsion desirable but not necessary - willing to learn. The candidate shall have a good command of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint). A working knowledge of the English language is required. The candidate shall be able to operate in a team environment, and shall have good interpersonal, reporting and communication skills (written and verbal). The candidate must be able to communicate effectively to translate scientific and technical concepts into verbiage and concepts that are easily understood by diversified audiences. Qualifications 8-10 years of facility development and project management (or related) experience. Bachelor's Degree in related field required. Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineer preferred. The candidate shall be a US Citizen able to obtain a US Secret level security clearance.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Mechanical Engineering, Plant & Facilities ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
